How It works
Each vehicle or asset is fitted with an AMI "Livetrack"device The device is capable of monitoring many digital specific events such as ignition on/off, vehicle moving, vehicle idle and additional user defined telemetry devices. The vehicle position is triangulated using GPS satellite technology and converted to longitude & latitude coordinates. This Longitude and Latitude information , along with other specific event information, is transmitted in a small data packet via the GPRS network direct to our servers in our data centre. The AMI "Livetrack" servers then collate and disseminate the data packets and convert them using reverse geo-coding technology into place names and positions the units on a digital map. The information is then accessed by the user logged on to the AMI "Livetrack" web servers, these in turn display all requested information in real time via the user panel.
Terminology Explained
• Ignition on and off
Records all ignition on and off events. Once a vehicle starts to move it will report its position, speed and direction of travel at timed preset intervals. Customers may configure these intervals to meet their own requirements.
• GPS stop/start & Idling monitoring
Reports when a vehicle starts to physically starts and stops moving.
• Additional PTO inputs/outputs
Monitor additional features such as door opening, refrigeration temperatures etc.
• PTO (power take off unit monitoring)
Monitor when additional machinery is activated (i.e road sweeper, gritters, plant machinery etc).
